Kernel state misuse via premature sysfs publication
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Uninitialized data use in Linux CPUFreq allows local users to reach sysfs callbacks while a policy object is partly initialized. cpufreq_policy_alloc() publishes policy attributes before policy->cpus receives its first valid value, and a nonzero garbage mask bypasses policy_is_inactive(). The race requires CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK and access during policy creation; published material does not specify disclosure, corruption, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
