Service hang via unresolved DRM lock contention
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux DRM execution helper allows local users to hang affected GPU ioctl operations through lock contention. drm_exec_prepare_array() returns success for an empty object array without locking and clearing a previously contended object, causing retry logic to jump back indefinitely. Reachability requires a driver path such as AMDGPU user queues that chains an empty array preparation before a contended nonempty array; the affected operation spins rather than completing.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
