Unapproved type instantiation via persisted scope JSON
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in LangChain4j Agentic allows attackers to instantiate unapproved Java types from persisted AgenticScope JSON. AgenticScopeSerializer.fromJson enables Jackson default typing without restricting supplied type identifiers to approved classes. The flaw is reachable only when persistence is enabled and attackers can write the backing store; the instantiated class determines the resulting effect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
