Script execution via unsanitized rendered note HTML
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Sheshbabu Zen 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through crafted note content. The Note Editor passes Markdown output from renderMarkdown directly to dangerouslySetInnerHTML, while that renderer returns unsanitized markdown-it HTML; the title is also assigned to the same sink. Execution occurs when the affected Note Editor displays attacker-controlled content, placing the script in the application's browser context.
