User-data disclosure via missing API visibility checks
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Authorization bypass in Gitea 1.27.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read hidden user data via seven API routes. In routers/api/v1/api.go, the affected user route group omits individualPermsChecker, and its handlers do not enforce target-user visibility. A valid token exposes otherwise-hidden users' followers, following lists, starred and watched repository lists, and public SSH and GPG keys, not private key material.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Activity data is delayed. The latest report is Sep 28, 2026.
Public exploit references
