Unauthenticated privilege escalation via unprepared guest-cart UPDATE
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
SQL injection in Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce 10.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter user metadata via guest checkout fields. The update_guest_persistent_cart() function applies stripslashes() to checkout-derived abandoned_cart_info and concatenates it into an unprepared UPDATE on wp_usermeta. Exploitation requires reaching guest persistent-cart handling without authentication; the injection enables time-based indirect database disclosure and account escalation to administrator.
