Unauthorized writes via unchecked symbol-package uploads
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Authorization bypass in Sonatype Nexus Repository before 3.97.0 allows remote authenticated users to upload NuGet symbols without write access. The NuGet Components API upload path skips the write-permission check for .snupkg files and persists them with only read and browse privileges. Versions starting at 3.95.0 require a hosted NuGet repository with Symbol Server enabled; anonymous access with default privileges also permits unauthenticated uploads.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
