Administrator session hijacking via cached authentication response
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Authentication bypass in PI Media JSON API Auth 3.1.2 and earlier lets remote attackers steal an Administrator cookie via a cached response. The parent JSON API plugin keys cached controller responses by URI and query string without distinguishing the POST that generates the cookie from a later GET. Exploitation requires the Auth controller to be enabled and an Administrator cookie-generation request to remain in the cache.
