Kernel crash via Open vSwitch use-after-free
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Open vSwitch flow table in Linux allows attackers to crash the kernel through concurrent flow-table reallocation. tbl_mask_array_realloc() schedules the old mask array for RCU reclamation before replacing its still-reachable pointer, allowing a new packet reader to retain freed memory. Exploitation requires Open vSwitch flow-table reallocation concurrent with packet lookup; published evidence does not establish whether unprivileged traffic alone can create that state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
