Unspecified impact via nf_log teardown race
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel allows local users to cause unspecified impact through an nf_log logger teardown race. The nf_log_syslog and nfnetlink_log exit paths unregister per-network operations before global logger backends, allowing a concurrent sysctl or netlink writer to restore a pointer that is freed when module exit completes. Reachability requires a rebind during backend removal; a later sysctl read or packet-log operation dereferences the stale pointer, while further consequences are not published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
