Unspecified impact via AFS directory block double-unmap
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Double-unmap in the AFS client in Linux 6.14 allows local users to cause unspecified impact during directory entry removal. The afs_edit_dir_remove() path manually unmaps an afs_dir_iter block without clearing iter.block, so a second afs_dir_find_block() call unmaps the same block again. The trigger requires removal of an AFS directory entry that is not first in its hash chain; public material does not specify the resulting consequence.
