Use-after-free read via stale AFS peer data
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.12.101 through 6.12.110 and 6.15 allows attackers to trigger a freed kernel-object read during an AFS callback. afs_fs_probe_fileserver() passes a NULL old address list, so afs_set_peer_appdata() binds replacement peers without clearing app_data on removed peers. Triggering the fault requires an address refresh, destruction of the former server object, and a later callback through an RxRPC connection that still pins a removed peer; KASAN confirmed a four-byte stale-object read, but no broader impact is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
