CVE-2026-97576Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds access via oversized HEVC tile counts

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux V4L2 HEVC controls allows local users to exceed tile-array bounds through crafted PPS controls. std_validate_compound() accepts tiling-enabled V4L2_CTRL_TYPE_HEVC_PPS data without checking tile counts against the fixed uAPI arrays used as decoder loop bounds. Exploitation requires local access to a stateless HEVC decoder device; published material identifies no specific crash, disclosure, or privilege consequence.
