Boot crash via out-of-bounds TPA array access
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Linux 7.1 can crash during boot on a Broadcom 57608 NIC with firmware 233 when bnxt_en processes an out-of-range software TPA ID. bnxt_alloc_agg_idx can map a firmware TPA ID above 31 to an rx_tpa index even though that array contains only 32 entries, so bnxt_rx_pkt dereferences and later writes beyond the allocation. The condition requires the affected kernel, the bnxt_en driver, and the cited NIC and firmware combination; the observed consequence is a boot-time kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
