Kernel warning via stale ADD_ADDR announcement
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Improper MPTCP state cleanup in Linux allows local users to trigger a kernel warning through endpoint reconfiguration. The ID0 removal path leaves a pending ADD_ADDR entry in anno_list, so later ID0 reselection reaches WARN_ON_ONCE in mptcp_pm_announced_alloc. Reaching the condition requires privileged MPTCP endpoint operations; the upstream report documents a warning but no crash, privilege gain, or data exposure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
