Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped dynamic link
Published Jul 3, 2026 · Updated Jul 3, 2026
Stored XSS in GenerateBlocks 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted Headline block. The Headline renderer reads an allowlisted user-profile description through linkMetaFieldType and inserts the resulting dynamic URL into href without rejecting the javascript scheme. Contributor access is required to store the profile value and crafted block; JavaScript runs in the browser context of any visitor who clicks the link, including administrators.
