Kernel panic via unsafe qla2xxx queue teardown
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Improper queue teardown in Linux before 6.18.53 or 7.2.7 allows attackers to trigger a kernel panic during qla2xxx queue creation. The qla25xx free routines pass a null ring to dma_free_coherent and modify queue maps under a lock different from the creation lock. Reaching the faulty paths requires the qla2xxx driver and either failed DMA allocation or concurrent queue creation and teardown, with impact limited to system availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
