Kernel use-after-free via unlocked PTE update
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
A use-after-free in Linux 6.15 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via concurrent x86 memory-attribute changes. The lockless walk in __change_page_attr_set_clr() retains a PTE that concurrent CPA collapse can free before set_pte_atomic() writes it. Reachability requires the x86 module-mapping race, and published material does not establish an attacker path or resulting security impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
