CVE-2026-97531Hinoki check available

Use-after-free via deleted vport reinsertion

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

Use-after-free in the qla2xxx SCSI driver in Linux allows attackers to trigger a kernel memory-safety violation during vport teardown. qla24xx_report_id_acquisition() can select a vport marked VPORT_DELETE and call qla_update_host_map(), reinserting the dying object after qla24xx_disable_vp() removed it and zeroed its port ID. Reaching the flaw requires qla2xxx Fibre Channel virtual-port teardown to overlap format-1 report ID acquisition; a later host-map lookup then dereferences freed kernel memory.
