Unspecified impact via stale IOTLB entries
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Incorrect page-table handling in Linux 6.18.8 through 6.18.52 and 6.19 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via stale IOTLB entries. The x86 __split_large_page function allocates a PTE outside the standard kernel page-table API, so the table is neither constructed nor marked as a kernel table and is freed without IOTLB invalidation. The upstream patch does not document attacker reachability or whether the stale mappings expose data, corrupt memory, or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
