Kernel crash via incomplete Xe devcoredump cleanup
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
A null pointer dereference in Linux before 6.18.53 allows attackers to crash the kernel during Intel Xe devcoredump cleanup. xe_devcoredump_snapshot_free() unconditionally passes ss->gt to xe_guc_capture_put_matched_nodes(), and xe_devcoredump_free() cancels work that was never queued. The path is reached when cleanup runs without a completed coredump capture, limiting the consequence to a local service interrupt on systems using the Intel Xe driver.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
