CVE-2026-97511Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds access via NAN monitor transmission

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux mac80211 before 6.18.53 allows attackers to trigger an invalid array lookup during NAN transmission. ieee80211_add_tx_radiotap_header uses the NUM_NL80211_BANDS sentinel as an index into the wiphy bands array without first checking that it denotes a real band. Reachability requires NAN traffic and a monitor interface processing transmit status; the upstream disclosure identifies the invalid access but no resulting crash, memory disclosure, or code execution.
