Kernel crash via unchecked DMA allocation failure
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel dm1105 driver allows attackers to crash the kernel during device initialization. dm1105_hw_init ignores dm1105_dma_map's failure and proceeds after dma_alloc_coherent returns NULL, passing a null buffer into DMA setup. Reachability requires DM1105 PCI DVB-S hardware and a DMA allocation failure; no attacker-controlled way to force that failure is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
