CVE-2026-97505Hinoki check available

Local service disruption via unauthorized PCI BAR resizing

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Missing authorization in Linux before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53, depending on branch, allows local users to disrupt PCI devices by resizing BARs. The PCI sysfs __resource_resize_store() handler accepts writes to resourceN_resize without verifying CAP_SYS_ADMIN and then changes device configuration. Exploitation requires local write access to the attribute; a successful resize can interrupt an active driver and its dependent services.
