Kernel crash via unchecked MMC data pointer
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the DaVinci MMC host driver in Linux allows attackers to crash the kernel via error-status interrupts. mmc_davinci_irq() reaches the TOUTRD and CRCWR/CRCRD branches when host->data is NULL, then writes error status through the null data pointer. The crash requires a DaVinci MMC interrupt whose qstatus contains a read-timeout or data-CRC bit while no data request is active.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
