Kernel memory corruption via unchecked SDMA queue ID
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Linux 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory. The drm/amdkfd allocate_sdma_queue function uses a CRIU-supplied restore_sdma_id in SDMA queue bitmaps without confirming that the identifier is below the available queue count. Reaching the path requires AMD KFD queue restoration and CAP_CHECKPOINT_RESTORE or CAP_SYS_ADMIN; an oversized identifier can access memory beyond the bitmap and crash or corrupt the kernel.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
