Kernel memory disclosure via unchecked MQD bounds
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in the Linux amdkfd driver allows local users to disclose adjacent kernel memory through the KFD process-restore path. The v9 get_wave_state() code trusts attacker-controlled MQD stack size and offset fields, then subtracts them and passes the unchecked length to copy_to_user(). Access to AMDKFD_IOC_RESTORE_PROCESS with H3 and compatible AMD GPU hardware is required; exposure includes other queues' MQDs, ring buffers, and KASLR pointers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
