Memory corruption via oversized PSP firmware copy
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Linux's AMDGPU PSP firmware loader allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory through an oversized firmware image. The psp_copy_fw path and several callers used memset and memcpy on the fixed 1 MiB fw_pri_buf without rejecting a zero-length or oversized image. Published material does not identify how attackers can supply such an image, and reachability depends on an AMDGPU device using the PSP firmware-loading path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
