Kernel DoS via unchecked VBIOS table count
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Linux kernel before 6.18.53 allows local users to trigger a denial of service via malformed AMDGPU VBIOS GPIO I2C tables. The amdgpu AtomBIOS parser trusted a VBIOS-reported table size, deriving an unchecked entry count that could overrun adev->i2c_bus[] or iterate absurd numbers of entries. Exploitation requires crafted or corrupt VBIOS data on AMDGPU hardware; remote exploitation and impacts beyond service interruption are not established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
