Service hang via sleeping RDS shutdown worker
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux RDS InfiniBand transport allows attackers to hang kernel work processing during network teardown. The rds_ib_conn_path_shutdown function sleeps indefinitely on wait_event, preventing the sole shutdown worker from processing work needed to complete teardown. The published record identifies the failure through RDS RDMA self-tests but discloses no attacker-controlled trigger or required privileges; the demonstrated consequence is a hang, not a crash or reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
