CVE-2026-97483Hinoki check available

USB storage hang via ignored allocation flags

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Deadlock in Linux before 6.12.111 and before 6.18.53 can hang USB storage recovery during a root-hub device reset. The rh_call_control() path replaces a caller-supplied GFP_NOIO allocation constraint with GFP_KERNEL while processing a root-hub control transfer. A SCSI error-handler reset or resume can therefore trigger further I/O reclamation through the same storage stack and deadlock it, leaving storage recovery hung.
