CVE-2026-97477

RDMA counter disruption via failed bind cleanup

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Resource-state leakage in Linux before 6.18.53 allows local users to disrupt RDMA counter modes through repeated bind failures. In alloc_and_bind(), a failed __rdma_counter_bind_qp() call frees the counter without decrementing port_counter->num_counters or restoring the prior mode. A counter-capable RDMA port is required, and repeated failures leave AUTO mode blocked or the port stuck in MANUAL mode until restart.
