Memory over-read via unchecked AML parser pointer
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in the Linux ACPICA parser before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 allows attackers to read beyond an AML buffer. The acpi_ps_parse_loop() error path dereferences walk_state->aml while checking for AML_ELSE_OP without first ensuring that the pointer remains below parser_state->aml_end. Reaching the read requires malformed AML that fails parsing at the end of an If or While block; no kernel-level data disclosure or service interruption has been demonstrated.
