Use-after-free via invalid ACPICA reference increment
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows attackers to trigger invalid memory access via crafted AML. acpi_ut_copy_simple_object() passes invalid Object pointers from Local, Arg, and Debug references to acpi_ut_add_reference(). The public evidence demonstrates a freed-memory read but does not establish a Linux attack path or a consequence beyond invalid memory access.
