Out-of-bounds read via malformed AML package lengths
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux ACPICA 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows attackers to read past an AML buffer. ACPICA package-end parsing accepts a malformed encoded length that places the parser pointer beyond AmlEnd, and later parser operations dereference that pointer. Reachability requires attacker-controlled ACPI Machine Language, normally supplied by platform firmware or privileged table-loading facilities; the public reproduction aborts an AddressSanitizer build of acpiexec.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
