Out-of-bounds read via unchecked AML parsing
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in Linux 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allow attackers to read beyond an ACPICA AML buffer. AcpiPsGetNextNamestring advances through namestring prefixes and segment counts without checking AmlEnd, while AcpiPsPeekOpcode reads one or two opcode bytes without equivalent bounds checks. A crafted AML table must reach the ACPICA parser; the published reproducer demonstrates a heap-buffer-overflow read, but no further Linux kernel consequence is documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
