Service interruption via malformed NVMe FDP descriptors
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux before 6.18.53 allows attackers to interrupt service via a malformed FDP configuration log from an NVMe controller. The nvme_query_fdp_granularity function advances through device-supplied descriptors without first rejecting a zero dsze or a descriptor extending past the log buffer. Reachability requires an FDP-capable NVMe controller to return malformed descriptor data; parsing can iterate without progress or read beyond the buffer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
