Firmware crash via stale P2P device binding
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux iwlwifi MVM driver before 6.18.53 allows local users to crash Wi-Fi firmware through P2P operations. After a P2P Device's remain-on-channel operation ends, a station binding update re-adds the inactive device because a cached phy_ctxt pointer is mistaken for active binding membership. Removing the P2P Device then deletes its PHY context while firmware still references it, interrupting wireless service on affected Intel adapters using the non-MLD binding path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
