Out-of-bounds kernel reads via unbounded FRU parsing
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in Linux before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53, depending on branch, allow attackers to trigger kernel reads via malformed GPU FRU data. The amdgpu FRU Product Info Area parser advances through TLV fields and copies their declared lengths without bounding every access by the EEPROM buffer length. Reaching the flaw requires an applicable AMD GPU with truncated or malformed on-card FRU data during driver initialization; public evidence establishes out-of-bounds reads but not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
