CVE-2026-97426Hinoki check available

Runtime PM usage-count underflow via invalid SmartShift input

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Improper runtime-PM accounting in Linux before 6.18.53 allows local users with administrative privileges to underflow a GPU usage count via sysfs. The amdgpu_set_smartshift_bias handler sends parse failures to cleanup that calls amdgpu_pm_put_access without a matching amdgpu_pm_get_access. Reachability requires SmartShift-capable AMD hardware and a privileged invalid write; the kernel restores the count and emits a warning rather than crashing.
