CVE-2026-97419Public exploitHinoki check available

Cross-namespace disclosure via misrouted HSR notifications

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Information disclosure in affected Linux kernels allows local users in init_net to read HSR events from other network namespaces. hsr_nl_ringerror() and hsr_nl_nodedown() call genlmsg_multicast(), which sends every event through the default init_net socket instead of the device namespace. A privileged init_net listener can obtain peer MAC addresses and slave-port interface indexes, while listeners in the owning namespace miss their events.
