CVE-2026-97409Hinoki check available

Kernel warning via premature I/O tagset iteration

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Improper request cancellation in Linux before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 allows local users to trigger a kernel warning during NVMe-FC recovery. During controller connection, __nvme_fc_abort_outstanding_ios() uses queue_count to iterate an I/O tagset that has not yet been created, while ioerr_work can race with tagset removal. Reachability requires an NVMe-FC controller, an admin-request timeout or connectivity loss in the CONNECTING state, and uninitialized I/O queues; the observed consequence is a lockdep warning that disables lock validation.
