Out-of-bounds read via undersized L2CAP payload
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows physically proximate attackers to send malformed L2CAP frames. In l2cap_recv_frame(), the connectionless-channel branch reads a two-byte PSM after checking only the outer L2CAP length, so a zero- or one-byte payload makes the parser consume skb tailroom. Bluetooth reachability and an undersized connectionless frame are required; published evidence demonstrates the read but reports no crash, disclosure, or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
