Charging-service disruption via unthrottled WebSocket authentication
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Excessive authentication requests to the WebSocket API in Monta monta.app allow remote attackers to disrupt charging services. The OCPP backend accepts repeated authentication attempts without sufficient request limits, permitting rapid retries against charging-station identifiers. The endpoint must be reachable over the network; CISA describes brute-force access as a possible outcome but does not establish account takeover from this flaw alone.
