Unauthenticated stored XSS via User-Agent header
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
Stored XSS in Kazuki Yanamoto Post Views Stats Counter 1.1.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts via User-Agent headers. The plugin's bot-substring blacklist accepts crafted User-Agent values, which are stored and later rendered without adequate escaping. An unauthenticated request that avoids the listed substrings plants a script that executes when a user opens an affected page.
