Unauthenticated stored XSS via cookie-blocker output rewriting
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Stored XSS in Complianz GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent Banner 7.5.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via comments. The YotuWP cookie-blocker output filter uses str_replace() rewrites that break quoted attribute boundaries in comment HTML already accepted by WordPress wp_kses sanitization. Exploitation requires comment approval and processing by the affected filter, after which visiting the page executes injected scripts in the site's browser context.
