Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in EmergencyWP 1.4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings through an administrator's browser. The form_settings_ui handler accepts state-changing form fields without validating a WordPress nonce, then writes options and changes role capabilities. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to submit a forged request; consequences include changed access roles, life-check timing, email routing, and uninstall erasure behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
