Group metadata disclosure via omitted visibility checks
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authorization bypass in Red Hat build of Keycloak allows remote authenticated users to read hidden group metadata through Admin REST APIs. RoleContainerResource.getGroupsInRole() checks permission to view the role but returns every mapped group without calling the per-group visibility check. Exploitation requires FGAP v2 and delegated role-view access; direct requests to the hidden groups remain forbidden.
