Cross-project corruption via unscoped API writes
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in OpenStack Mistral's v2 API allows remote authenticated users to overwrite other projects' public resources. Write paths resolve targets using queries that return another project's resources, allowing project members to rewrite and un-publish public action definitions and environments. API exposure is required; project administrators can also submit workbooks with colliding embedded action or workflow names to transfer resources into their project and make the original owner's updates fail with server errors.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <20.1.1
- Affected versionversion=21.0.0 <21.0.1
- Affected versionversion=22.0.0 <22.0.1

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
