Cross-user playlist disclosure via unscoped search
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Information disclosure in Black Candy through 3.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to enumerate other users’ playlists via playlist search endpoints. SearchController and Search::PlaylistsController fail to scope blank or targeted search queries to the authenticated session user, returning playlist names owned by other accounts. Access requires a valid account, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized playlist-name disclosure rather than modification or service interruption.
